Armenian National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet is located in the heart of Yerevan. It is not just a place for cultural performances, but an architectural masterpiece the architect of which is Alexander Tamanyan. It is the glory of the Armenians musical culture.
The Opera House comprises of two concert halls: the Aram Khachaturian concert hall (1400 seats) and the Alexander Spendiaryan Opera and Ballet National Theater (1,200 seats).
The Opera house is the part of the Freedom square, where the statues of the great Armenian poet Hovhannes Tumanyan and the famous composer Alexander Spendiaryan are standing. Around the Opera House there are a lot of well-designed cafes where you can enjoy your evenings and listen to jazz or classical music.
